Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Plena, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Plena. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the app and agree to these Terms.

Account & Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

Subscriptions & Purchases

Pro and Lifetime upgrades are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by the respective store under their own terms. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements on our behalf.

AI-Generated Recipes

Recipes, meal suggestions, and other content generated by Plena's AI are provided for inspiration only. You are responsible for verifying ingredients, allergens, cooking temperatures, and food-safety practices before preparing or consuming any recipe. Plena does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Consult a qualified professional for guidance specific to your health or dietary needs.

Nutritional Information

Nutrient values shown in the app are estimates derived from the USDA FoodData Central database (https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/) and AI estimation. Actual values vary based on brand, preparation, and portion size. Plena is not endorsed or certified by the USDA.

User Content

Any content you submit to the app — including preferences, saved meals, shopping lists, and custom recipes — remains yours. You grant Plena a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, and display that content solely as needed to operate the app for you.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse engineer the app, scrape data from it, abuse the AI generation endpoints, or use Plena for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend access if you violate these rules.

Third-Party Services

Plena relies on third-party services to function:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and analytics
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
• Anthropic — AI-powered recipe generation
• USDA FoodData Central — nutritional data

Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of these providers where applicable.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that harms other users or our service.

Disclaimers

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content generated will be accurate or suitable for your needs.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plena and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the app are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
